Our History Tim_Bridge_street.jpg

On 20th March 1993 an IRA bomb in Warrington in the North West England, took the lives of 12 year old Tim Parry and 3 year old Johnathan Ball. 56 other people were injured and many others will carry the mental scars with them for the rest of their lives. No one has ever been prosecuted for killing Tim and Johnathan.

Tim Parry’s parents, Colin and Wendy, set their hearts on building a unique Peace Centre as a lasting memorial to the boys. It was opened on the 7th anniversary of the bombing... 20th March 2000.

Colin and Wendy’s vision was to create a safe place where ordinary people could learn about the causes and non-violent resolution of conflict, so that they might turn their passion for and commitment to peace, into the skills which can help prevent other atrocities.  They wanted to encourage those involved in, or affected by conflict, to build meaningful friendships and thereby, find the means of working together to eliminate the prejudice and distrust that destroys cross community and international relations.
