The Foundation’s short courses are intensive one day workshops which have been designed and developed over time to provide a practical and engaging introduction to many key topics relating to conflict and conflict resolution. Aimed at children and young people of all ages; the Foundation prides itself on the quality of our provision which stems from innovative, creative and effective teaching methods which focus on experiential learning.
Each short course is linked to the Key Stage 3 and 4 National Curriculum objectives for RE, History, PSHE and Citizenship (links to Key Stage 1 and 2 are available upon request). To provide ease of use, links are made to the Key Concepts and Key Processes within each subject. Each course fulfils specific objectives although the purpose of the Foundation for Peace and the teaching and learning methodologies used during the short courses ensures that all courses fulfil many of the ‘Range and Content’, and ‘Curriculum Opportunities’ of the Citizenship curriculum.
Some courses can also be used to evidence the promotion of pupil’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
