Conflict Resolution and Peace Building

Many victims, survivors and former combatants want to learn about the reasons behind why they became affected and go on to learn about the conflicts, situations and groups that gave rise to their situation. Engaging people in learning about conflict is a useful start to addressing the cycle of violence, whereby those affected by conflict often get involved in continuing the violence. By providing educational programmes about conflict, the Foundation aims to encourage those directly involved and affected by violence to pass on their learning to others. The Foundation has extensive experience of delivering educational programmes on conflict resolution, and these will now be developed and extended to victims, survivors and former combatants so they can undertake accredited courses in Conflict Resolution and Peace Building. These will take the form of 2 day workshops or 30 hour courses, giving participants an Open College Network Accreditation. Participants who have completed these courses can also participate on the Leadership Development programme.

The programmes will be developed in the Spring of 2008 with the first courses available to participants towards the end of 2008. Further information is available from the Foundation office on 01925 581 231 or info@foundation4peace.org.
